PENTHOUSE : CLASSIER THAN HUSTLER

Penthouse Magazine was founded in 1969 by Bob Guccione. He wanted to create a magazine more explicit than Playboy, but less trashy than Hustler. Less trashy than Hustler? Clearly this guy had standards.

In the 1980’s, Guccione became a billionaire and one of the richest men in America. He died in 2010 at the age of 79 after a long battle with cancer. His son, Bob Guccione Jr. has since taken over the magazine. Here, he shares his thoughts on the future of media.

Penthouse Magazine appeals to the Limbic brain because of the pictures in the magazine that the brain is responding to.

The Aesthetic Shift applies to Penthouse Magazine because you can access the Magazine through multiple mediums. You can get their magazine in print or access it online.

Production Techniques clearly applies to Penthouse Magazine because in all the photo shoots with the women they have to use camera angles, lighting, and editing to make them look perfect.

A Persuasive technique used in Penthouse Magazine is “Beautiful People”. All the naked women in this magazine are obviously a big motivation for consumers to buy it.

Penthouse not only features photographs of those oh so classy women, but articles aimed to interest a real “man’s man”. Their feature article topics include: movies with explosions and lots of women, new bands that might interest their readers, video games riddled with violence and naked girls, interviews with popular recording artists, travel, food, technology, and sports.

I know you have been sick - it seems like you've run out of gas a bit here.

    Am I right?

This is a shame - as you are very good at blogging effectively when you put your mind to it.

Keep practicing, and enjoy your summer,
